THE FORMIST COVE

The Formist Cove is a cozy residential community of 33 plots set in a bucolic tropical landscape that echoes the unique character of the city of Belagavi with its lush subtropical greenery. A rock formation along two sides of the site recalls the rugged beauty of the nearby western ghats.

With owning a plot in the Formist cove, the Formist group offers the owner a further service of building his/her villa as per a simple modular design process that allows a buyer to customise his house design. Here pret meets bespoke.

The design suite is an attempt to re-imagine the typical villa project of self similar repetitive housing provided by builders as an iterative landscape of difference. Just like in nature where forms emerge due to set of laws and forces, our house designs are informed by your unique lifestyle and personality.

The design for your villa is generated not by a top down prescriptive approach but rather by an inclusive participative model that lets individual buyers take ownership of the design process, albeit in a structured manner.

Our design recognises the multi-functionality of the Indian street and the main avenue of the layout is a unique design that merges the functionality of a road carrying mild traffic and the playfulness of the Indian streetscape where children colonise the streets whenever they can.

Plot sizes

The cove offers plot sizes across a range of sizes with some bordering gardens and others having roads on two sides. The design of the layout ensures that there are only a maximum of 12 houses in a lane adding to the cozy atmosphere of the neighbourhood.

Cove garden

The cove garden is a lush garden spread across more than half an acre. The garden combines nature with activity and provides a space that offers something for everyone, from young children to elderly people living in the neighbourhood.
